LiFi Specialist Oledcomm Unveils Gigabit OFE, the Micro-Chip That Turns Any Mobile Device into a LiFi-Powered Device – A revolution during the semiconductor crisis ?
After the worldwide success of MyLiFi®, the first consumer LiFi lamp unveiled during CES 2018, the launch of LiFiMAX® at CES 2019 and the LiFiMAX Cybersecurity solutions at CES 2020, Oledcomm announces its OFE (Optical Front End) Integrated Circuit allowing for Gigabit LiFi connectivity. The Gigabit OFE is an ASIC of 1,5mm x 2,5 mm based on an ST-micro technology that allows Smartphones, Laptop, Tablet Manufacturers, a native and seamless integration into their devices. The OFE can be coupled with photodiodes and light source like LED or VCSEL to achieve a 1 Gbps point to point connection at a distance of 1-5m. The OFE can be used with a G.99991 baseband as well as a 802.11 baseband already present in most of the mobile devices.
The LiFi experience will change radically with the Gigabit OFE.

As a reminder, LiFi (Light Fidelity) technology allows devices to be connected to each other using light. LiFi transmits data by modulating light signals from a light source, an invisible process to the naked eye. The light signals are received and converted into data using a dongle connected to the device.

Oledcomm is present at the MWC 2021 in Barcelona both physically, the booth 1L49, and virtually.
Tests and demos of a Laptop, Tablet and smartphone integrated LiFi will be organized upon request and specific appointment from June 28th to July 1st 2021.
