If you keep up with tech, one name you’ve definitely heard of is TCL. If not, here’s why you should be keeping an eye on them.

They’re best known for their TVs, achieving global TV sales of 29 million units in 2024. In the same year, their TCL Mini LED TV was ranked No. 1 globally in shipment volume by OMDIA, and the brand itself was ranked No.1 globally in shipments for TVs sized 85 inches and above.

Not to mention, from 2021 to 2024, TCL was ranked No.1 globally in Google TV shipments for four consecutive years.

So, who exactly is this global TV industry leader?

Making waves in the tech scene

Founded in 1981, TCL has evolved from a traditional consumer electronics manufacturer into a high-tech industrial group boasting three core business segments—smart terminals, semiconductor displays, and new energy photovoltaic.

TCL has also expanded to 43 R&D centres and 32 manufacturing bases worldwide, and today their business coverage spans more than 160 countries and regions.

This growth is the result of their bold investments in cutting-edge display and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, promoting the development and application of high-end display products.

At the core of TCL’s premium TV lineup is their QD-Mini LED technology, which combines Quantum Dot (QLED) and Mini LED backlight advantages to deliver superior brightness, contrast, and colour performance.

To the end user, this translates to ultra-high peak brightness, superior contrast ratio, wide colour gamut, long lifespan, and precise light control.

It’s no surprise then that among TCL’s star products are the flagship C8K Premium QD-Mini LED TV, which also features a Virtually Zero Border design for an immersive viewing experience.

It comes equipped with up to 3,840 local dimming zones, HDR 5000 nits peak brightness, and a CrystalGlow WHVA panel with a 7000:1 native contrast ratio to deliver stunning picture quality.

On the audio side of things, TCL partnered with Bang & Olufsen to design a customised surround sound system to elevate the home entertainment experience.

Catering to gaming enthusiasts is the TCL C6K QD-Mini LED TV which supports 144Hz VRR technology. It dynamically adapts to different frame rates to prevent screen tearing, giving gamers what matters—a smooth, immersive gameplay experience.

But TVs aren’t all that TCL is loved for.

For most of us who are reliant on air conditioners to feel comfortable, a major concern is always the electricity cost that might rack up.

That’s where TCL’s FreshIN 3.0 air conditioner (AC) comes in with its T-AI Energy-saving Algorithm that uses an intelligent algorithm powered by big data to analyse user habits and dynamically adjust system performance, reportedly saving up to 37% in electricity consumption.

Fitting right into the smart home movement, the AC’s AI voice technology also includes over 1 million offline voice commands, allowing you to speak to adjust the AC controls without needing an internet connection.

TCL also has refrigerators such as the ultra-thin Free Built-In which requires only a 1cm clearance for perfect cabinet alignment, thanks to its stable recessed hinges.

It comes equipped with bottom heat dissipation, T-Fresh sterilisation technology, and a convertible compartment design.

Meanwhile, the C682 Super Drum washing machine features a 540mm drum, providing longer tumble distance than standard models for deeper cleaning.

Keeping your clothes intact is its Wave Drum with a soft ripple texture that prevents fabric snagging, while the 6D Bionic motion creates an S-shaped tumbling path for improved washing performance.

The TCL X Arsenal roadshow

TCL, whose name stands for “The Creative Life” and embodies its philosophy of inspiring creativity in everyday living, is an official global partner of Arsenal. The brand recently designed a TCL X Arsenal roadshow where fans can enjoy a day of fun and experience the above-mentioned products in person.

On November 21 to 23, the TCL X Arsenal roadshow at IOI City Mall featured a curated journey flow where participants received a journey card upon entry to collect stamps as they explored different stations.

There was also a PS5 & Game Simulator Area featuring FIFA 25 and Black Myth: Wukong, allowing visitors to experience TCL’s TV graphics.

Other interactive zones included table football, a DIY football designing activity, an Arsenal jersey showcase, and various Arsenal-themed check-in experiences.

Keeping the momentum going, TCL is currently having a promotion where the purchase of designated models allows customers to enter a lucky draw. The prize? A limited-edition autographed Arsenal jersey.

Stay up to date on the brand’s promotions and events through TCL’s Facebook, Instagram, or Tiktok.
